As detailed in Pt 1, America’s wealthiest White Anglo-Saxon Protestant families started the pseudo-science Eugenics movement in early 1900s America, which deemed as genetically inferior the vast majority of Blacks, a majority of Jews and non-Black people of color, and about half of Catholics.[i]

Black’s War Against the Weak, along with his New York Times best-selling book, IBM and the Holocaust, documented how America’s eugenicists funded the movement in Germany after that country was left in ruins after World War I, and these eugenicists bankrolled the Nazis.[ii]

Also as previously noted, Project MK-Ultra used the same MK-Ultra used the same Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory buildings as the national Eugenics Records Office, and had some of the same funding families, including the Rockefellers and the Fords.[iii]

James Watson, credited with discovering DNA’s double helix with Francis Crick, became director of Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory in 1968 and President in 2004.[iv]

Watson was stripped of honorary titles at Cold Spring Harbor Lab for racist remarks in 2007 that he repeated in a documentary about ten years later, stating that Blacks are genetically inferior.[v]

In 2018, researchers gained the release of over 4,000 new MK-Ultra documents to go with the 10,000+ documents originally found by U.S. congressmen in the mid-1970s.[vi]

An Embattled State’s Attorney, Protected Serial Attackers & Adnan Syed’s Release

After Adnan Syed was exonerated for a murder he had committed as a minor after two decades behind bars, Baltimore City State’s Attorney Marilyn Mosby’s office revealed her predecessors’ cover-up of two other suspects—a serial rapist and a serial nude assault perpetrator.

Despite national attention on this murder case involving Syed, Maryland’s Attorney General Brian Frosh continues attempts to re-incarcerate Syed, after his 23 years in prison. Could potential exposure of U.S. intelligence activities be one of the reasons that federal authorities have indicted Mosby on trivial fraud charges?

In 1999, a Baltimore man said he found 18-year-old Woodlawn High School student Hae Min Lee’s body strangled to death deep in some woods in Baltimore City. Police arrested Lee’s former boyfriend, her 17-year-old Muslim classmate Adnan Syed. Due partly to a friend’s testimony and cellphone tower records, a jury found Syed guilty of murder and other charges in 2000, and a judge ordered him to life imprisonment.[vii]

Hae Min Lee and Adnan Syed at junior prom. [Source: nytimes.com]

In 2014, a Peabody-award winning podcast “Serial” presented witness Asia McLain who had said she wanted to testify about Adnan Syed studying with her in the library at the time of Lee’s death. Syed’s first lawyer, Cristina Gutierrez, ignored McLain and was later disbarred for client complaints of similar behaviors. A later lawyer of Syed’s, Erica Suter, revealed in a Motion to Vacate that the friend of Syed’s gave two different accounts to police and then a third different account to the media.[viii]

The podcast Serial further “questioned the credibility of the cellphone tower records, and revealed that physical evidence gathered in 1999 was never tested for Syed’s DNA.” That the Serial podcast was downloaded over a 100 million times likely helped as a judge then granted Adnan Syed a new trial in 2016, but state appeals kept Syed imprisoned.[ix]

Mr. Syed leaving the Baltimore City Circuit Court after a judge overturned his conviction. [Source: nytimes.com]

In September of 2022, a new Maryland law allowed prosecutors to modify their sentences. Baltimore City State’s Attorney Marilyn Mosby’s office said they conducted a year-long investigation, including new DNA testing advances that failed to show Syed’s DNA, but found four other people’s DNA on Hae Min Lee’s shoes. Prosecutors also claimed that their predecessors hid two alternative potential suspects from Syed’s defense lawyers.[x]

In October of 2022, prosecutors dropped charges and Adnan Syed was released from prison. Lee’s family sought to pause the proceedings and the State’s Attorney General Brian Frosh joined that motion to bring this change of events to the Maryland Court of Special Appeals.[xi] Lee’s family later clarified that they only want a new evidentiary hearing, not for Syed’s return to prison.[xii]

Mosby Freed Syed, Charged Six Cops with Murder, Revealed Hundreds as Corrupt

Marilyn Mosby came into office in 2015 and restructured her office in line with prosecutors from New York to Los Angeles. She differed from most prosecutors in charging six police officers involved with young black Freddie Gray’s death with second degree murder. Gray’s 2015 death triggered the Baltimore race ‘rebellions’ (often called ‘riots’).[xiii]

Police officers charged by Mosby in death of Freddie Gray. [Source: usatoday.com]

Mosby also prosecuted a serial sex offender who had been acquitted in four previous sexual assault cases. She then publicly argued for the state to bring “our predatory sexual assault laws in line with the federal statute.” She further announced she would stop prosecuting marijuana cases regardless of the quantity, and vacated nearly 5,000 previous marijuana convictions.[xiv]

In December of 2019, State’s Attorney Mosby “told a state policing commission that she maintained a list of police officers about whom she had concerns regarding their integrity and whether their testimony in court could be trusted.” She said this was due to police officers’ “theft, planting evidence, perjury, corruption and fraud.” After a court battle, this list was released and contained the names of over 300 officers.[xv]

Mosby Reveals her Predecessors Hid Suspects: A Serial Rapist and Nude Assault Perpetrator

Most importantly, Mosby’s office revealed her predecessors in the Baltimore State’s Attorney’s office hid from the defense in the Adnan Syed case two alternative suspects. Mosby’s prosecutors wrote that “one of the alternative suspects was convicted in connection to multiple rapes and sexual assaults conducted in a ‘systemic, deliberate and premeditated way.’”[xvi]

Adnan Syed’s first defense attorney, Cristina Gutierrez, showed a conflict of interest in also representing an alternative suspect in Hae Min-Lee’s murder case at the same time as Syed. Police had found the suspect in the back of a van with his pants down next to a minor teen boy when the suspect was 27-years old in 1999. He was carrying a picture of Syed at that time.[xvii]

This suspect had never been asked to testify at Syed’s trial, despite his buying a cell phone for Syed and reportedly “mentoring him.” Federal authorities later convicted this suspect in 2017 after he became a medical professional and sexually assaulted five male patients after administering anesthesia to them between 2010 and 2014.[xviii]

The Baltimore Sun wrote that in 2020, the second alternative suspect came out of some woods naked “wearing nothing but a mask, and carrying what looked like a child’s jacket.” He proceeded to chase a horrified female postal worker, attacking her in her postal truck.[xix]

This suspect lived less than a 1,000 feet from Hae Min Lee and Adnan Syed’s Woodlawn High School. Police found a box of newspaper clippings from 1999-2000, pornography and empty alcohol containers “secreted underneath a couch” in his basement.[xx]

At the trial of this second suspect, County Assistant State’s Attorney Lisa Dever said this man was involved in “serial indecent exposure,” and had “discovered” Hae Min Lee’s body. This suspect also pled guilty to assault twice, in 2004 and 2020. Because his indecent exposures included wearing a bunny mask, Northwest Baltimore neighbors nicknamed him ‘The Bunnyman.’[xxi]

Police records stated that this suspect worked as a maintenance man at Coppin State University at the time of Lee’s death, when he took a lunch break, went home and grabbed a tool and a beer, and headed back for work. He stated in court testimony that he stopped on the road, claiming he “walked 127 feet into the woods to urinate when he noticed Lee’s body.” [xxii]

The suspect’s claim of walking more than 3-8 feet into woods to urinate is damning enough, but the suspect was already brought up on several indecent exposure charges before the trial of Syed. The suspect then failed the first polygraph exam they gave him. A detective brought him in a second time and he passed on a flawed “Peak of Tension” test which an expert stated “no U.S. school” for polygraph exams would support.[xxiii]

And finally, Hae Min Lee’s car was found directly behind the home of a family member of one of these two suspects after her death.[xxiv]

Are U.S. Attorneys Targeting Marilyn Mosby for Exposing Intelligence Activities?

After Marilyn Mosby’s office started their investigation of Adnan Syed case in 2021, the U.S. attorney for the District of Maryland have brought indictments against Marilyn Mosby. Starting in January of 2022, they charged her with seemingly frivolous felony counts regarding “perjury and false mortgage application charges.”[xxv]

In March of 2022 they added a new “false statement on a mortgage application” charge. Her original charges alone reportedly carry a “maximum penalty of $1 million in fines and up to 30 years in jail.”[xxvi] The serial rape suspect in the Syed case received only 16 years in prison for raping 4 men, after previous sex with a minor.

Federal authorities appear to be targeting Marilyn Mosby for several reasons. First, because she was one of the first big city prosecutors to fully charge police officers involved with Freddie Gray’s death with murder.[xxvii]

In Baltimore City, State’s Attorney Marilyn Mosby held a press conference after Baltimore’s Freddie Gray-sparked race rebellion in April of 2015, saying “to the youth of this city: I will seek justice on your behalf,” filing murder charges against some of these police officers involved in Gray’s death.[xxviii]

Baltimore Sun reporter Justin Fenton wrote that Mosby’s filing “criminal charges was instantly controversial” as “authorities too often dragged their feet” regarding other national, high-profile cases.[xxix]

Secondly, besides making the list of 305 Baltimore police officers with credibility issues, she investigated and exposed Baltimore’s Gun Trace Task Force. This police unit paralleled the similar Los Angeles Ramparts Division undercover CRASH unit, supporting that there were similar units nationwide (all to be covered in more detail in part 2).[xxx]

[Source: youtube.com]

Marilyn Mosby had already started investigating corruption and police brutality within the police department, and utilized the Baltimore City Sheriff’s Office which is a police arm of the court system separate from the Baltimore Police Department.[xxxi]

Powerful political forces appeared to intervene in several ways. First, the Department of Justice came in to investigate police corruption a week after Mosby’s press conference, superseding her own investigation.[xxxii]

And finally, Mosby’s uncovering of the alternative Lee murder suspects along with the other serial rapist she prosecuted and called attention to, appear to reveal U.S. intelligence activities (see part 3 coming).

More Evidence of U.S. Intelligence Operations, their Continuance & Cover-up

Two of the most notorious U.S. intelligence programs were the FBI’s Counter-Intelligence Program (Cointelpro) and the CIA’s Project MK-Ultra.[xxxiii]

Evidence suggests that both programs appear to continue today. For example, one former FBI Cointelpro agent, Wes Swearingen, said in a memoir published in 1995 that despite Cointelpro officially ending in 1971, “the program is still in operation today, but under a different code name.”[xxxiv]

While Cointelpro targeted leftist activists and communities in general, it used particular brutality against the black community and its leaders. The Woodlawn neighborhood of Baltimore County has a majority black, multi-ethnic population.[xxxv]

Author Tom O’Neill revealed how serial rapist and murder orchestrator Charles Manson was one of many people turned into monsters by the CIA’s Project MK-Ultra.

O’Neill further revealed how MK-Ultra worked with Cointelpro, how police at least temporarily protected Manson and his followers, and how famed Los Angeles Deputy District Attorney Vince Bugliosi tried to cover-up U.S. intelligence involvement for over four decades.[xxxvi]

Syed’s attorney, Erica Suter, a director of the Innocence Project Clinic at the University of Baltimore School of Law, said Maryland Attorney General Brian Frosh’s continued appeal of Syed’s exoneration, is a “troubling but not surprising” attempt to defend its own misconduct.[xxxvii]

The question remains as to whether this state level misconduct partly attempts to hide ongoing federal misconduct, to be explored more in part 3.

On November 18, 2021, a judge exonerated two of the three men convicted of assassinating Malcolm X, partly due to newly revealed FBI documents implicating their paid informants at the scene and cover-up regarding the actual assassins.[1]

A mass of evidence supports that U.S. intelligence orchestrated Malcolm X’s assassination and the assassination of numerous other Black leaders, along with murderously targeting their descendants. A sampling of these atrocities reveals the use of similar tactics and personnel in this targeting.

Academy Award-winning director Oliver Stone has come out with a new documentary film, JFK Revisited: Through the Looking Glass, which offers excellent evidence of U.S. intelligence’s tragic assassination of President John F. Kennedy in November of 1963.

The film is subtitled “through the looking glass” likely due to its coverage of several other CIA atrocities of that time. The film is intermixed with the great promise JFK held out in bringing about a more peaceful foreign policy and civil rights at home.

Attempted to publish December 2021 In his best […]

Attempted to publish December 2021

In his best-selling new book, The Real Anthony Fauci: Bill Gates, Big Pharma, and the Global War on Democracy and Public Health, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. meticulously documents how Fauci, Gates, and pharmaceutical companies have shredded constitutional rights under the pretext of combatting infectious biological elements for decades. This tremendous book particularly exposes the current COVID-19 crisis where Kennedy shows the vast involvement of the military and U.S. Intelligence in these machinations.

Brilliant Son Reveals Massive Corruption that Led to the Current Pandemic

Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s brilliance, family legacy and work experience helped him compile this information of utmost importance that has landed the book on all the best-sellers’ lists despite massive censorship.[1] Kennedy has read science journals throughout his 40-year career in leading successful lawsuits against top corporate polluters of our waterways.[2] He further has had inside access to all the top public health officials due to his father, uncles, and extended family’s government work.

If critics actually read The Real Anthony Fauci, they wouldn’t write RFK Jr off with the all-or-nothing, cartoonish label “antivaxxer.” Kennedy merely cites some of the same opinions on 20th century vaccine interventions as the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and Johns Hopkins scientists, published in Pediatrics in 2000. This article stated environmental cleanup rather than vaccines led to the decline of most major illnesses.[3]

RFK Jr also wrote this book with the help of many top American doctors and scientists, including internal medicine doctor Meryl Nass MD (an anthrax expert), and the inventor of the MRNA vaccine platform, Robert Malone MD.[4] The book focuses on endemic corruption and the mass fatality consequences of public officials’ actions over the last four decades.

In his introduction, Kennedy presents the example of how the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) “owns 57 vaccine patents[5] and spends $4.9 of it’s $12 billion-dollar annual budget (as of 2019) buying and distributing vaccines. NIH [National Institute of Health] owns hundreds of vaccine patents and often profits from the sale of products it supposedly regulates. High level officials, including Dr. Fauci, receive yearly… royalty payments on products that they help develop and then usher through the approval process.”[6]

RFK Jr’s Introduction also notes how America’s world-topping 2,107 reported COVID deaths per million rate dwarfs Iran’s second most 1,449 deaths per million.[7] He further noted how Anthony Fauci’s call for the unprecedented quarantine of the healthy, which took hold globally, sent 300 million into dire poverty, food insecurity and starvation.[8] The Associated Press (AP) said “10,000 children died each month due to… global lockdowns,” and 6.7 million more children than the previous year “experienced wasting and stunting from malnutrition.”[9]

‘Mismanaging the Pandemic,’ or Managing Mass Murder and Theft

Towards the end of the Real Anthony Fauci’s Introduction, Kennedy details how the quarantines caused the economy to fail “upwards” as it was “enriching the wealthy.”[10] RFK Jr cites how the lockdowns put 58 million people out of work.[11] The Wall Street Journal said the lockdown’s first year permanently closed 200,000 businesses.[12]

RFK Jr noted how the quarantines and business closures amounted to the largest transfer of wealth in human history, with workers losing $3.7 trillion and billionaires gaining $3.9 trillion.[13]

Kennedy’s first chapter analyzes some of health officials’ other deadly recommendations, including masking the healthy, along with intravenous remdesivir and ventilation for COVID patients nationwide. First, RFK Jr cites a peer-reviewed Canadian Medical Association Journal article that cited 25 studies on the harms of regularly wearing a mask, including “respiratory and immune system illnesses, as well as dermatological, dental, gastrointestinal, and psychological injuries.”[14]

Regarding remdesivir, Fauci and the CDC, put $79 million into developing it for Gilead. Bill Gates also had a $6.5 million stake in Gilead. (It’s a wonder if the company prided itself in sharing the name of The Handmaid’s Tale’s theocratic state.)[15] Fauci also pushed hard to get the FDA to approve remdesivir as the second of only two drug treatments for COVID patients nationwide (the other being corticosteroid dexamethasone).[16]

Kennedy cited previous studies that attempted to use remdesivir to treat Ebola. He stated that in one study, within 28 days, “subjects taking remdesivir had lethal side effects including multiple organ failure, acute kidney failure, septic shock, and hypotension, and 54% of the remdesivir group died.” Hospital nurses dubbed it “Run-death-is-near.”[17]

Many may remember politicians clamoring on mainstream media about the need for more ventilators.[18] Kennedy called ventilators the other of the “two deadly remedies” faced by hospitalized COVID patients, who Anthony Fauci had originally called for getting no treatment until they went into the hospital. An April 2020 study on WebMD headline reported “Most N.Y. COVID Patients on Ventilators Died.”[19]

The CDC has found that poor people “with public health insurance” use hospital emergency rooms the most when sick and scared, and faced these deadly remedies.[20] Hospitals have $13,000 money incentives to mislabel them COVID patients and a $39,000 incentive to place them on ventilators.[21]

Lying About Life-Saving Hydroxychloroquine and Ivermectin to Push Vaccines

RFK Jr started his book with his largest chapter first about COVID, and spent the other half of it on life-saving treatments hydroxychloroquine and ivermectin. In 2015, the World Health Organization (WHO) listed these medications as two of its “Essential Medicines.”[22]

Mainstream media’s favorite strawman, President Donald Trump, repeated Dr. Vladimir Zelenko’s findings of hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) having a great benefit for his COVID patients in his medical office.[23] Trump’s stating this wrongly discredited the notion for a large percentage of the population.

While Zelenko’s work got the most attention, 32 more early treatment studies would be published around the world, including in New York, Michigan, France, China, and Italy, presenting the benefit of treatment with HCQ, particularly in combination with “zinc and azithromycin (or doxycycline).”[24]

Kennedy noted how in May 2020, Yale University Epidemiology Professor “Harvey Risch, M.D., Ph.D. published the most comprehensive study to date, on HCQ, with his “meta-analysis reviewing five outpatient studies—in affiliation with Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health in the American Journal of Epidemiology. Dr. Risch used the urgent title, ‘Early Outpatient Treatment of Symptomatic, High-Risk COVID-19 Patients that Should be Ramped-Up Immediately as Key to Pandemic Crisis.’”[25]

Kennedy further cited Dr. Risch in that study demonstrating “with specificity, how HCQ’s critics—largely funded by Bill Gates and Dr. Tony Fauci—had misinterpreted, misstated, and misreported negative results by employing faulty protocols, most of which showed HCQ efficacy administered without zinc and Zithromax, which were known to be helpful.” The critics’ studies would also wait late into the course of the COVID disease, when HCQ was less effective.[26]

Award-winning cardiologist Peter McCullough MD, a former Vice-Chief of Internal Medicine at Baylor University Medical School, joined Dr. Risch in also detailing the excellent results from “Numerous clinical studies—including peer-reviewed randomized controlled trials—showed large magnitude benefits of ivermectin in prophylaxis, early treatment, and also in late-stage disease management” of COVID-19.[27] Dr. Paul Marik, a chief of intensive care medicine at Eastern Virginia Medical School, agreed about the dozens of studies supporting ivermectin.[28]

RFK Jr. said Dr. Anthony Fauci and his National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) cohorts owned half the patent on Moderna’s COVID-19 vaccine.[29] So they also refused to acknowledge ivermectin’s effectiveness, as this and HCQ would disallow their rushed COVID-19 vaccines to get the Emergency Use Authorization they received.

The consequences of these vaccines can be found at the only government reporting system (a ‘passive’ one at that)—the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS). VAERS documented over 20,000 American deaths as of December 10, 2021, and many occurred in Europe and worldwide.[30] VAERS has also documented over 155,000 serious injuries.[31]

A site called Open VAERS gives monthly updates on this information and includes a government-funded study finding VAERS numbers are just 1% of the real totals.[32]

Fauci, Gates, and Big Pharma: A History of Deception and Genocide

While space precludes a full discussion of The Real Anthony Fauci’s next ten chapters, suffice it to say that Robert F. Kennedy Jr presents copious evidence that Dr. Anthony Fauci “nurtured a complex web of financial entanglements among pharmaceutical companies and the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease (NIAID)… that has transformed NIAID into a seamless subsidiary of the pharmaceutical industry.”[33]

Dr. Fauci’s power also comes from parts of his gargantuan $12 billion budget that includes $1.7 billion from the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA).[34] Kennedy said that Fauci used this money to develop loyalty from “an old boys’ network of some 1,300 academic ‘principal investigators’ (PIs),”[35] along with using “his awesome power to defund, bully, silence, de-license, and ruin scientists whose research threatens the pharmaceutical paradigm, and to reward those scientists who support him.”[36]

Kennedy spends four chapters detailing how Fauci and his cohorts had previously used their COVID “pandemic template” regarding lethal interventions with fatally toxic AZT on people who had tested positive for human immunodeficiency virus (HIV).[37] The Hollywood movie Dallas Buyers Club covered the real helpful AIDS interventions that activists had to buy from underground doctors and smuggle from Mexico.[38]

Fauci and his frequent collaborator, Bill Gates (WHO’s second largest donor, behind the U.S.), proceeded to push AZT on other countries, particularly in Africa.[39] Former World Health Organization (WHO) epidemiological director James Chin described how “AIDS case figures for developing countries were massively manipulated,” to justify this.[40] Fauci and Gates pushed toxic vaccines globally with similar harmful and lethal consequences.[41]

Fauci, Gates and U.S. Intelligence Use the ‘Biosecurity State’ to Strip Constitutional Rights

Western democracies stripped people of their constitutional rights under the guise of protecting us in 2020, and they are doing the same in 2021. For example, laws require vaccination cards to get into New York restaurants and Australians can only travel certain distances, with Northern Australians testing COVID positive sent to camps.[42]

Key bioweapons experts such as Ret. Colonel Robert Kadlec, MD and DARPA Director Dr. Michael Callahan joined the Anthony Fauci and Bill Gates network that produced this ominous situation in the U.S. and abroad.[43]

Kennedy detailed how these figures, National Intelligence Director Avril Haines, the Rockefeller Foundation, and others, orchestrated numerous simulations of our current COVID events from 2001 onwards. The most well-known simulations were the Rockefeller Report of 2010 and Event 201 held with the Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security and the World Economic Forum.[44]

Kennedy quoted CIA whistleblowers such as Kevin Shipp, along with British daily newspapers and other sources to cover the British collaboration, through MI6 (Military intelligence) and “Wellcome Trust—the UK version of the Gates Foundation.”[45] Kennedy titled this last section of his book, “The Triumph of the Military/Intelligence Complex: Intelligence Agencies and COVID-19,” detailing the many American and British spy links to this current coup.

In the huge footsteps of his tremendous father and uncles, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has made a monumental contribution to humanity with this tremendous book. It is up to the rest of us to march with him into the battlefield for saving ourselves and any semblance of democracy we still have.

On September 11, 2001—a day that will live in infamy in U.S. history—hijacked planes hit the World Trade Center in New York City and one side of the Pentagon in Washington, D.C., which experienced destruction. President George W. Bush’s administration started a war in Afghanistan on October 7, 2001, after quickly blaming Osama bin Laden, al-Qaeda, and Afghanistan’s Taliban for harboring bin Laden.

The Bush administration, however, had spurned an agreement by which the Taliban would have turned over bin Laden which was agreed to following al-Qaeda’s bombing of the U.S.S. Cole in October 2000. According to Kabir Mohabbat, an Afghan-American businessman and State Department envoy to the Taliban, by the end of 1999, in the face of crippling U.S. sanctions, the Taliban had come to see bin Laden and his training camps as “just a damn liability.”

On June 16, 2021, the late rap icon Tupac Shakur would have turned 50 had he survived a still unsolved drive-by shooting in Las Vegas 25 years ago. Few knew that behind his “gangsta rap” façade, Tupac was an activist leader who worked to counter CIA drug trafficking through street gangs.

Tupac did this with his Black Panther-extended family and others. Evidence supports that this and Tupac’s accumulating influence contributed to U.S. intelligence’s murderous targeting of him, his Panther family, and activist-converted gang leaders.

In early May of 2021, the Department of Justice released 10 pages of their FBI file on former Nirvana singer-songwriter Kurt Cobain. Since the rock icon’s death in 1994, mainstream media has mostly repeated police statements that Cobain killed himself with a shotgun. FBI statements and a mass of accumulated evidence suggest that they purposely avoided looking into the radical activist musician’s death due to U.S. intelligence involvement.

A new movie on The Black Panther Party for Self Defense, The Black Panthers, has planned showings in 31 cities nationwide this summer and fall, after playing at 34 film festivals previously. The film does a good job at showing the positive community organizing done by the radical leftist group in the 1960s. The film also presents many great interviews and much good archival footage. The film only strays into negative historical revisionism in offering an overly negative presentation regarding two of the top three national Black Panther leaders.

“Vanguards of the Revolution”

Baltimore’s Morgan State University Professor Stanley Nelson listed the subtitle of his movie as, “Vanguards of the Revolution,” harking back to the language used at that time. These words could be taken as either the overly optimistic voice of some radical activists, or the propaganda used by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) whom Nelson quotes in the film. The Black Panthers quotes J. Edgar Hoover’s famous line about The Black Panthers being the number one threat to national security (A movie theater’s staff thought their safety was threatened during a Saturday Baltimore screening when someone tweeted they would shoot people, and the staff all left the theater, canceling the two remaining shows where Nelson planned to speak).

The Black Panthers begins by showing how the organization started as a civil rights political party opposing police brutality and setting up many “survival programs.” These programs included free breakfast for poor children, free medical clinics, and housing organizing groups. It also included political education programs, particularly through its national newspaper. The film rightfully displays how their great community organizing made them role models for other radical ethnic groups. A better film on The Black Panthers, former Panther Lee Lew Lee’s All Power to the People!, explicitly says how groups such as the Puerto Rican, Young Lords, the American Indian Movement and the Asian, Yellow Peril, all learned from and modeled themselves after The Panthers.

The film also shows at least several great speeches by some Black Panther leaders. It includes particularly good speeches by 20 year-old Chicago Panther leader Fred Hampton as well as snippets of speeches by national Panther cofounder, Bobby Seale. Hampton speaks his famous lines, “You can kill a revolutionary, but you can’t kill the revolution.” Stanly Nelson presents National Black Panther Secretary of Communications Kathleen Cleaver a few times, and includes short but good interviews of her.

The movie then begins to detail the attacks on The Black Panthers, starting with the police shootout with Huey Newton. It’s at this point in the movie that Nelson appears to leave out some context for why Newton was stopped by police, where he and a police officer were both shot. Nelson failed to mention what has been noted in at least several books about the Panthers, which is that the police officers had a list of Black Panther license plates on them that they arguably intended to target.

Highlighting the FBI’s War on the Panthers

The Black Panthers does do a relatively good job of showing several other key instances of the FBI’s Counterintelligence Program targeting of the Panthers. It presents good details on the targeting of the New York Black Panther leadership, which came to be known as the New York 21. It only leaves out some of the top names, such as Lumumba Shakur, who headed New York’s largest chapter in Harlem, as well as leaving out Afeni Shakur (Tupac’s mother) and not mentioning Assata Shakur, nor Bronx Panther leaders Sekou Odinga and Zayd Shakur. Maybe many names were omitted to cut down the length of the film or maybe the Ford Foundation’s co-funding of the film led to such omissions.

Director Stanley Nelson mentions some of the FBI’s Counterintelligence Program (Cointelpro) tactics, but fails to mention them with the splitting of Huey Newton’s Oakland national Panther office and the New York chapter. For example, top Panther historians Ward Churchill and Jim Vander Wall’s two books, Agents of Repression and The COINTELPRO Papers, discusses the fake letters and undercover agents that helped accomplish this split more specifically. The director does give good details about the New York trial of the Panthers being the longest of its time (over two years) and the jury’s acquittal of all the New York defendants in 2-3 hours.

Nelson also gives some specific details about the targeting of the Chicago Black Panthers that included the tragic murder of Fred Hampton in his bed. It further shows excellent footage of the FBI targeting of the Los Angeles Black Panther office four days later. One Los Angeles Panther who fired back at a police fuselage of bullets in the early morning attack made a very evocative statement. He said that he’s “never felt so free as I did in the middle of that firefight.”

Again, omissions are far from a major issue when a film needs to be a reasonable length, but they do bear pointing out. Nelson’s film fails to mention the murders of the original LA Panther leaders, Jon Huggins and Alprentice “Bunchy” Carter. It also fails to mention the false imprisonment of Los Angeles Panther leader Geronimo Pratt a year or two after a sniper’s particular targeting of him during that attack on his Panther office.

Incorrect Shaming of Top Panther Leaders?

A much more problematic aspect of Stanley Nelson’s The Black Panthers comes in the way it portrays two of the top three national Black Panther leaders, without the full context of their targeting. The film contradicts the accounts of well-documented books on Eldridge Cleaver. It quotes people calling him “crazy” early on, when he was made the Panthers national Minister of Information. It also doesn’t relate the details of the 1968 police attempt to murder Cleaver.

After several negative comments about Cleaver, Nelson depicts Cleaver as enlisting young Panther Bobby Hutton in joining him to attack police. This account appears spliced together from interviews with Panthers and taken out of context. Many books covering this incident, such as The COINTELPRO Papers, detailed how the Oakland Police “Panther Squad” deliberately provoked this attack on Cleaver and Hutton. Another book, Bitter Grain, stated that Cleaver and fellow Panthers put the word out that Oakland activists shouldn’t riot as police would use it as an excuse to kill Panther leaders. Interviews of former military snipers by historians such as attorney William Pepper confirm this belief. Despite having one of the highest per capita black populations, Oakland was one of the only major cities that didn’t riot after King’s assassination. Police then used a made-up excuse to attack Cleaver and Hutton. Nelson’s movie appears to blame Cleaver for Hutton’s murder at the hands of police.

The Black Panthers rightfully discusses some Cointelpro tactics around the time it discusses the split between Panther national cofounder, Huey Newton, and Cleaver. Yet, it somehow does not describe exactly how these tactics were used in this split, only seeming to blame Newton and Cleaver’s less rational impulsiveness. This split also set Newton against the imprisoned New York Panther leadership, yet the film appears to present the division as a natural disagreement, rather than showing it within the context of Cointelpro tactics being used. Churchill and Vander Wall’s books, along with the film, All Power to the People!, the feature presentation of the first Black Panther Film Festival, detailed the U.S. intelligence-written letters and undercover agents used to create these divisions.

Too Much Testimony from a Likely Undercover Agent?

These sources, The COINTELPRO Papers and Agents of Repression present many Panther reports that one particular Oakland Panther, Elaine Brown, was actually a U.S. intelligence undercover agent. All Power to the People! contains copious details and statements from respected Black Panthers regarding Elaine Brown’s history and work for U.S. Intelligence, as guided by her self-reported, lifetime “mentor” Jay Richard Kennedy. David Garrow’s Pulitzer Prize-winning book on Martin Luther King, Bearing the Cross, details how Jay Kennedy was the CIA’s top spy in the Civil Rights movement. MLK’s friend and historian, William Pepper, also notes Jay Kennedy’s top spy work.

All Power to the People! shows Bobby Seale stating that many Panthers told him of Brown’s spy work and influence over Huey Newton to expel other Panther leaders and take apart the organization. Most importantly, when Elaine Brown threatened to split the black vote within the Green Party that was looking to run Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney for president, McKinney backers Kathleen Cleaver and Geronimo Pratt (changed to Geronimo Ji Jaga by this time) took action. The two Panther leaders put out a letter from Geronimo detailing Elaine Brown’s history of reported psychiatric hospitalization, infiltration of the Panthers, and aiding of U.S. intelligence in the murders of LA Panther leaders Carter and Huggins. Furthermore, Geronimo detailed how Newton told him that Elaine Brown developed way too much influence over him by regularly bringing beautiful women and cocaine to him just after Newton got out of jail in 1970. Newton eventually got out from under her influence and found that Brown had played a part in helping frame Geronimo Pratt on a murder charge.

Several decades later, after Geronimo and Cleaver sent this letter out to activists, Elaine Brown sued them for slander and defamation of character. This writer and many other activists sent Cleaver documents to back her and Geronimo’s claims and the suit was dismissed.

Elaine Brown was one of many undercover agents used to manipulate Huey Newton. Two other confirmed undercover agents surrounding Newton included Richard Aoki and Earl Anthony. Anthony admitted his agent status in his book, Spitting in the Wind. In All Power to the People! New Haven Panther George Edwards quotes CIA whistleblower John Stockwell saying that from 1971 onwards the CIA waged psychological warfare on Newton. Stanley Nelson did a huge disservice to Newton’s legacy in only showing Newton’s negative actions, instead of the mass of evidence backing up the psychological warfare being perpetrated on him. Nelson then repeats the police-proposed myth that Newton died in a random drug deal.

Various writers, including Churchill and Vander Wall, have presented eyewitness reports, along with police and FBI foul play around Newton’s murder, that support how U.S. Intelligence assassinated Huey Newton in 1989. That decade, Newton received his PhD, started a Panther school, was working to free Geronimo Pratt, and had just contacted an active New York Black Panther about reconvening the organization. Evidence supports that many Black Panther leaders experienced lesser but similar psychological warfare for years to come.

Stanley Nelson’s film, The Black Panthers: Vanguard of the Revolution, brings more awareness to many great aspects of this legendary, armed community organizing group. While it also provides a balanced perspective on The Black Panthers, it’s too bad that the overly negative portrayal of two top Panther leaders might tarnish some of the movie’s positive messages in excluding more context of U.S. intelligence’s influence.
